Unwrapping after unwrapped…
How do experienced vendors do this all the time? We’re totally exhausted from our first market!
We just want to say thanks to all our friends who turned up to give us that moral support at Unwrapped market! It was super awesome! As first timers, we were so stoked with the positive response and experience from our customers! Thanks to all you crazy strangers who became our Little Mo fan clubbers! You totally made our day! We didn’t expect such great sales for our first range of paper goods.
The most asked questions of the day were:
1. Is Little Mo you?
2. Are you guys selling imported stuff from china?
3. You made these? As in designed everything? But they look really good!
4. Who designed this?
In future, I will put a sign up that says EVERYTHING is designed and illustrated by Helena Tay and professionally printed in Australia. Nothing is from China except my grandfather! Anyway attaching pictures of our stall and the real little mo. Check it out yo!
Will post pictures of the lovely handmade things I bought in my next post.

—3. You made these? As in designed everything? But they look really good!

awww thanks guys! you rock!
actually i learned alot on how i should display my stuff BETTER next time! I didn’t think of using space at the side of my table or just stacking things up higher. I will do that next time. I should also get coloured table cloth too! lol.
too white eh!

Helena, your stall looks great ! The white cloth sets the work of well, nice, clean, bright and not too busy, but do experiment. Market stalls are fun, it’s wonderful getting positive feedback from people as they look at your work.
A very rewarding experience, even if they are quite exhausting, with all the talking that one does. Well done with your sales as well !!!!! …..Megg

Your work is so beautiful!

Congrats m’dear! Gotta love how much your work shocks, surprises and impresses people. Nothing beats a market for getting direct feedback on your work. People can say what they like but how they really feel shows in their eyes and that is very useful info!!!
Well done!

You are sooo beautiful and you display/goods look great; you should be very proud! And I agree, a bold sign to say you handmade them is a great idea! I have that too and it gets rid of most of those comments.
You are SO adorable. Your work is like little windows of within, hehe.

I loved reading about the questions you were asked, some people are so stupid – but it made for a very funny read.

Hi there! I found your blog through Julie’s (We’ve Got Paper) and just had to comment as I just participated in my first show as well. And I can so relate to having to put up a sign that says everything is handmade and illustrated/designed by yours truly (I got asked, “Where’s the handmade in all of these?”)! The way you set up your booth is very nice! Congratulations!
Glad to have found your blog, now I have a new blog read

just dropping by to say hi! I love your drawings – they are the cutest things I’ve seen around in a long time. Your booth looks fantastic. Hope you have many more good shows!

The photos of the show are great. You should consider using one of them as one of the photos in your Etsy listings. People love to see the artist and a range of products displayed.

Your display is really beautiful! And people at craft fairs tend to say the stupidest things.
1. Do you have the pattern for this so I could make it?
2. Horrified look at the $25 price tag on a handknitted stuffie
3. Oh I could make that, come on let’s go.
ignore them! Your work is georgeous!
