Perth Upmarket pt. 1

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Heya! Just sorting through some pictures of last Sunday’s Upmarket.

juneupmarket_2010_blog1

I was quite exhausted after the market..and needed a few days to rest. I had a great time on Sunday and I was pleased to meet some of my blog readers and facebook fans. You guys truly made my day!

I also had some new products selling at my booth; like my new notebooks, Little Mo wrapping papers and my 2011 pocket calendars. I noticed that my product range has grown significantly since my first market!

Thanks to everyone for supporting my art making and buying my art. I hope you’ll have lots of fun using your Little Mo stationery! Stay tuned for more pictures in my next post!

P/S: My card display was hand built by Ramsden Designs.

Thankfully Niina came over to help me…with the monotonous task of punching gift tags! Thanks dear!

2011 Pocket Calendars

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

Wow talk about total handmade spirit. I carried this whole stack of paper goods home from the printer. I had to make two trips. There’s about 120 over notebooks and calendars in this stack.

paperstack

Yes you heard correctly, calendars! It may be a little early (or maybe not), but I’m taking these goodies to Upmarket to sell on Sunday!

Each book is pocket sized and will fit in your handbag and shirt pocket (if you like stuffing things in your pocket). They feature my original illustrations of Little Mo and her adorable animal friends. I’m a bit obsessed with pocket sized things lately…so expect to see more mini creations soon! You can get your pocket calendars here. Enjoy!

Art exchange

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

I’m slowly replying to all my pen-pals. Almost there!

fashion2

Again I’ve been spoiled with more snail mails this week. Some friends and I took part in an art exchange. Each person mails off a handmade art and receives a surprise package in return. I’ve received two packages so far and they’re all lovely!

Del from Delicious Designz made me a flower brooch in orange and blue wool! I love it so much! I was touched that she chose my wedding colours and it made me all giddy again looking at the fun colours. This brooch makes me think of orange poppies!

Deb from Two Cheeky Monkeys made me some hair pins. I must admit, I’m a bit obsessed with hair pins and I wear them a lot! The ones that Deb sent me are my favourite kind, they look like little vintage charms and they come in pastel colours. They also match my Matryoshka Doll bag that I bought in Japan! Hehe.

Thanks girls! I hope you’ve been receiving lots of cool art yourselves! xoxo

Custom illustration for Carmel

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

I’ve just finished working on a custom illustration for Carmel, the owner of Golly Golly Gosh. Her new shop will stock handmade bibs, kids clothes and cute accessories.

gollygollygosh1

I decided to illustrate something fun and colourful to express her kiddy brand! You can see more pictures here.

While working on Carmel’s project, I’ve realised that it would be fun to draw more commissioned portraits for families, couples or pets in my own illustration style. They can have their artwork framed or turned into unique cards to send afar.

I am also very tempted to introduce other children characters in my stationery and art range, which is something I’ve thought about for awhile but have been a bit nervous to take the leap. What do you think?

New stockist: Planet Books

Monday, June 14th, 2010

I heard from a few friends that they’ve seen my Little Mo stationery at Planet books. So we walked down to town to check out Planet Books and do a bit of book / paper browsing.

planet_books4

Planet Books stock some nice collection of graphic art books and I was delighted to find artworks and books by local artists.

If you’re in the neighbourhood, you can buy our Little Mo stationery from Planet Books at 634 / 648 Beaufort St, Mount Lawley. We have a fun selection of Little Mo dolls, book stickers greeting cards, postcards and journals.

Perth Upmarket June 2010

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

After my hiatus at the start of this year, I am now preparing for market season! My first market appearance for 2010 will be at Perth Upmarket.

perth_upmarket_june

There will be over 140 designers selling on that day!

I think I’ve missed all the buzz and excitement that comes with market preparations. You can bet, I’ll be at my stall showing off my new Mo art! And this time, you can carry your paper goods home in our Mo stamped paper bags!

I hope to see you all there!

Perth Etsians

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

I realised I haven’t introduced some of my Etsy friends from Perth! We hung out one weekend at Annie’s studio space. All of us brought food and kids. I love Annie’s studio, it’s a lovely space tucked away in the seaside town of Fremantle.

Aaron and Niina. Gah! Cute.

The star of the day was Little Eloise with her mum, Ali J. I got to carry the little one and she really pulled on my heart strings. She was so tiny and warm!

Throughout the day we feasted on healthy snacks!

Check out their shops. These girls are so talented and I’m so happy to know them through Etsy.
