Custom logo illustration for Carley

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Another busy week.

I just finished a custom illustration for Carley from Vanilla Pixie.

Carley sells sweet ribbon bows in her shop and she approached me to do some branding for her business. She told me that she wanted a pixie and a hedgehog for her logo which made me very excited!

I settled on a red and white theme, and applied it to all of her business collateral. I think the theme complements the toadstool on her logo. And I know she will have lots of fun playing with these colours for her market stall.

Carley, I hope you will have a fantastic year with your business and may this pixie bring you lots of fairy dust and sales!

Receiving and sharing art

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Over the years, I’ve made lots of friendship via blogging. Damian from Dorkboy Comics is one of my internet buddies and we still keep in touch when we can.

This week I received a super cool package from Damian. A comic illustration featuring Little Mo which he drew last year. My first ever Action Mo!

Magazine illustration

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Hello 3.30am and I’ve finally finished an epic artwork. A magazine illustration for the Mental Health Division, Department of Health WA.

I thought I’d share some before and after pictures with you. This was what I roughly sketched and sent to the client BEFORE:

And after colouring and touching up. This is AFTER:

As you can see, I tend to go crazy with details. And I also tend to experiment with as much colours as possible.

Sometimes it drives me nuts and it makes me wonder why I even bother. But sometimes I like the challenge.

I think this blonde sweetheart has sort of made up for the late nights:)
