So I said I was going with an orange theme. Well I finally found shoes to get married in. I thought I would never find one in my size (apparently not a lot of people wear orange shoes) but these ballet flats found me.
What do you think?
I hope my parents don’t freak out. But I think if they see this now, they may not get such a shock on the day. Am I right mum? Anyway, it’s all part of the fun!

Christmas! It’s always a mad rush at this time of the year.
I’ve been making gift tags all afternoon…punching holes and hammering them to stock in my shop. You can also pick these gift tags up at Made On The Left this Sunday. I hope to see you all there.

Don’t forget that I gift wrap all my orders. If you’re buying for a birthday, a Christmas gift or just because, let me know what you’d like to write on the tags or note card.
Even if you’re buying something for yourself, it’s still nice to open it like a present, don’t you think?

Hey folks!
I’ve been working on my website this week. Still needs a bit more tweaking but I’ve added two fun pages, Gallery and Sale. Check it out!
My sale page features some of my special deals. So if you’re looking for a handmade gift this Christmas, and have been eyeing my art for sometime, this is the best place to start your browsing! Alternatively you can shop as per normal on my online shop. Have fun!

Here’s a simple equation:
chocolate + art + love = a very happy helena
If you follow this formula, you too will be feeling giddy with delight.
Also when you’re having pink and white marshmallows with hot chocolate, it’s only logical that you match it with a pink and white cup set. Don’t you agree?

Soooooooo….we are mailing out wedding invites today. It’s a bit like snail mailing…only ten times scarier.

We’re going with a blue and orange theme for our seaside wedding. I drew some coral like flowers and made up some postcard invites..nothing too fancy. I also found some orange envelopes to match our cards.
When I think of orange and blue, I think of some of my favourite things:
- a summer sunset
- chilled orange crush
- orange poppyseed cake
- fresh salmon
- blue m&ms
- blue candy floss
- the ocean!
What’s your favourite orange and blue?

My new illustration of a Spring day in Little Mo’s garden. I’ve had this drawing for some time in my sketch book…but never got around to colouring it.

When I start a sketch on the drawing board, I like to ink in alot of details and don’t really think about the colouring process. It’s only after I’ve finished inking then I realise all the details that I have to colour in…and it makes me go a little berserk sometimes! Wouldn’t you feel the same if you see this sketch above?
But I usually calm down once I apply the first colours. I usually colour the leaves first. Because it helps me decide the overall colour for the artwork. So this is my new spring illustration, and everything is fresh and green.

Available in print and a greeting card set in my shop.
Happy Spring day everyone!

My friend, Michelle from Koot makes the sweetest vintage gift tags with her daughters. I used some for packaging my orders the other day.

And look at these Mouse tags I also got from her shop. They are so ‘koot!’ I better start wrapping my candy canes and chocolate boxes up:) Ho! Ho! Ho!

So the warm summer months are approaching down under and it’s time to bring out the flip flops. It’s also 2 months till we get hitched. We’re pretty excited (which reminds me I still have to make our invites).
But just the other day I was missing the best part about winter:
- collecting pinecones
- drawing on foggy windows
- warming my hands with a hot mug, preferably filled with something sweet and decadent.
- stepping into rainy puddles

And this morning I got to have one of those as a treat! A very lovely customer sent me a surprise mail package..

a box of hot chocolate mix and marshmallows! UNREAL!
That’s the best thing about my work, I get to meet so many wonderful people from my shop and blog. So thank you Allana, you just sweetened the rest of my day! CHEERS!
